Adéla Bierbaumer

About me

I’m a graphic designer and illustrator with Austrian roots. I live in Ústí nad Labem in northern Czechia, work at the Faculty of Art and Design and run the screen-printing workshop U Pavouka.

My work brings together bold colours, hand-drawn lines and distinctive characters. For Tam Cúc I created illustrations that give this traditional Vietnamese card game a new look.

Together with my partner Marek Fanta I work under the name BFF studio. We focus on illustration, publication design and visual identities for cultural exhibitions.

We are also the main organisers of FIK — Festival of Illustration, Comics and Video Games, held in November at Veřejný sál Hraničář in Ústí nad Labem.

I have published two books: the meditative visual essay První muž with taketaketake, and the self-published illustrated dictionary of German loanwords Wörtník.
